who we are
TERRE DI CONFINE (3rd edition, 2006)
The purpose of the Festival is to promote peace and mutual understanding amongst different peoples through works of film that address the history, conditions, lives and problems of peoples or individuals who live in "borderlands”. In this context the concept "borderlands” identifies places in which different languages, civilisations or ethnic groups come into contact, whether in harmony or in conflict; as is the case of the province where the Festival itself takes place. Therefore, submitted films can depict any kind of positive or negative situation, and will only be evaluated on the basis of their overall value as works of film. Not admitted are promotional and touristy films, or travel films not strictly dealing with the subject of "borderlands”. The final decision on the consistency of the film to the Festival’s subject rests with the Artistic Management of the Festival.

These copies submitted for the first selection are not sent back: they are kept in the internal archive of the Association and included in the Cultural Circuit. If a film passes this selection, the Festival Management will ask the author – or their delegate - to send in the original copy for the screening (Betacam or DVD) to be received by the deadline of October 15, 2006, to enable the Festival Management to carry out the necessary technical tests for the screening and to allow the jury to see the works in the best conditions possible.
